GenRev in CMMA Hall of Fame! by Kiddo Cosio
genrev.net was inducted into the Hall of Fame of the Catholic Mass Media Awards (CMMA) last November 10, 2006. The recognition came after three consecutive CMMA Best Website awards in 2003, 2004 and 2005. Needless to say, such recognitions help support the work that we are doing, and confirm that we're on the right track in reaching out to young people in the elements of our culture. To all GenRevers: let's thank God for this great blessing!
Here is the acceptance speech I originally prepared for the awards night. We didn't get to make speeches during the CMMA awards night itself, so here it is for all of you!
Four years ago, we began working on genrev.net with two old computers and a handful of student volunteers with no experience in building websites. Within our first month, we received a million hits. Thousands of young people were being awakened to the power of living out the Catholic faith! The icing on the cake was that in our first year, we received the award for best website. And we've been winning it every year since then.
We'd like to thank "GenRev Coach" Moses Catan who has been guiding us ever since. Also we thank our elders in Elim, Bro Willy and Sis Luli Nakar, Didi Marañon, Dondi Catan and PY Nakar, for their guidance and support. And we thank everyone who has served with us at GenRev, and all the students who consider themselves a part of "Generation Revival."
With this Hall of Fame award, it is our desire that Jesus would be made famous in schools around the globe. All glory to God! |
